Here's a recent note to Capt. Davis and all the 6th OVI from Greg Martin about his son Corey  aka C.R.

Hey Mike,
I just wanted to let you and the rest of the 6th Ohio know that Corey took the A.S.V.A.B. test for the Army and passed.  So he is now scheduled to go to Columbus on the 17th for his physical.  So unless something unforeseen happens My BOY Corey is in the Army!!  His Mom and I are proud as hell and yet scared too.

Anyway please pass this along for me since I don't have a current e-mail address for everyone.

Thanks ,
Greg"

We can all be very proud of CR and let's remember him and the Martins in our prayers!

In a reply to the news about CR we have learned that Tom Townsend's oldest daughter Betsy has joined the Navy. She goes off to boot camp on July 28th.  Let's keep the Townsend clan in our prayers as well!

All,
There is about two weeks left to get your $5.00 registration in for Perryville.  If you haven't done so please do.  (Note from web master- Registration information for Perryville has been posted on the 2009 Event Schedule page.)

Also the Blues are doing Gov. Scholars at Perryville on July 25th.  If you would like to come and participate please let me know.  The program is a couple of hours long.  You are welcome to camp on the park and we will provide you lunch.

There will be festivities at the Greene-House hacienda afterwards and family is welcome.  No wool required.

Let me know if your interested.

Thanks to the guys who were able to make it to Woodstock last weekend. The turnout was not the best for our guys or the locals, due to the weather and other commitments, but I think we had a good time. I heard some interest in trying it again next year. I hope the weather will cooperate and the event will be much larger for the sake of the restoration efforts. I did not realize they had put this event up against another event in West Liberty. That probably hurt as much as anything. Maybe they will plan a little better next time.

And guys, I know I saw a blue cloud up there Saturday!
